Love your work but don’t forget to love your company

We are often said that “We should love our work but, not our company” Well, it is time to change the stereotype. It is time to love our company as well. It is because of that company, that we have recognized our talents. It is because of that company that we have learned what should be included in our DO’s and what in our DON’T’s. It is because of our company we learned how to speak to our clients and how to handle our customers and it is because of our company we have learned to spend time with family away from our family.

The company teaches us the discipline and it teaches us how our pocket-money needs to be spent wisely. If not for our workplace, we would have never learned what we are supposed to speak to people who we dislike. It teaches us to be patient for the reward of our inputs (in terms of salary), it teaches us to be spontaneous (in terms of answering to clients whose work we have delayed). It molds us and prepares us to face the world. We learn from our company that we have a certain kind of talent that could earn us some money.

The most important thing that our company gives us is “certain kinds of experiences” that we help us repeating same mistakes. I have changed 4 companies in 18 months and every company has given me certain kind of experiences that I never wanted but I especially needed. My company showed me that ground reality is way more different than our fairy tale dreams and it gives us a reality check. So, do not ever forget to love your company too.
