Two international projects – JACKIE Chan and VIN Diesel

Kung Fu Yoga

Jackie Chan – he is my personal favorite actor. His comic timings and his actions are what makes us say “Mashallah.” My favorite movies of his are: Around the world in 80 days, Chinese zodiac, The Spy next door, The Tuxedo, City hunter, etc. Sadly, Kung Fu Yoga did not live up to expectations. The famous archeologist Chan who comes to India in search of treasure who is accompanied by glamour dolls like Patani and Dastur. Sonu Sud is a big bad guy fighting Chan. There are few scenes that are actually great like Chan teaching his best friend’s son some super-cool moves, he and Patani diving in ultra-cool water, they discovering gold with the help of sun-signs, but apart from that movie makes you yawn throughout.

Expressions given by the Lion are better than 80% of cast and technology and VFX are a cherry on the top in this movie. I am very proud of India taking an international step but the poor story fails to amuse me. The dance moves of Jackie Chan are worth watching, that at this age he shakes his body quite well but overall it’s a kind of disappointment.

Return of Xander Cage

Again, I have been a fan of Diesel and Padukone as well and I did find this movie worth watching. Diesel is forced to work for government by Jackson and Padukone is forced to keep her identity secret. The theme is good but there are few things, which according to me are quite similar to Furious 7. Padukone has bagged a quite impressive role as compared to other Indians who have worked for an international project. She looks glamorous and her chemistry with Diesel is definitely something to look forward to.

Dobrev has bagged a role of cute nerdy with geek glasses that amazes the audience with her bluntness at times. Few impressive scenes are: where Diesel skates from the electricity pole, Rose shoots from between the fingers of Diesel, Diesel again flying off from the plane, etc. I personally like the role of Yen who does not fail to amuse the audience.

These two films cannot be compared but both have something in common – International factor. Good or not, if India has dared for international projects it should be a must-watch.
