Security or Passion?

Our country is progressing but there are some stereotypes that will never break. I am a 23 years old artist who is passionate about writing. I work as a content writer in an IT company. My parents from very start have explained me importance of government job. They wanted me to opt for government job because it gives security, necessary leaves, good pay and timings are suitable. Basically, it has all qualities of a perfect job. Even I tried being under their influence and stated preparing for government job. I opted for a Stenography course which had a time span of 1 year. Initially I went there hoping to gain some knowledge and hoping that I would form some interest towards that course.

I tried my best to focus but it did not match the pleasure I felt while I wrote. It couldn’t give me satisfaction which my articles gave me while they were being published. Similarly, one of my friends wanted to appear for Civil services exam but he was forced by his parents to take up the private job. He has regretted every moment ever since and he has always been encouraging me to do what I love. He made sure nobody ever talked me into something that I dislike. Here I haven’t written a single word that has not been told before but if this could encourage even one person to go after his/her passion, it would make me happy.

So, do stand up for what you love, stay put for your passion, be it being an entrepreneur or an artist or government employee, do not let people talk you into something you don’t like because that regret kills you slowly and gradually. It may happen that initially people do not understand and support you but eventually they have to and they surely will.

It is not easy I admit but it’s worth it.
